Dr. Alyssa McGonagle is an Associate Professor of Psychological and Organizational Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Dr. McGonagle’s research focuses on worker health, safety, inclusion, and well-being, with a particular focus on workers with chronic health conditions and disabilities. Dr. McGonagle has been awarded funding for her research from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, the Institute of Coaching, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and the SIOP Foundation, and she has published her research in various prestigious outlets, including the Journal of Applied Psychology and the Harvard Business Review. Dr. McGonagle is also an Associate Editor for the journal Occupational Health Science, serves as Chair for the national Healthy Work Design and Worker Well-Being Committee, and is Program Director for the Industrial-Organizational Psychology Master’s program at UNC Charlotte. Her recently published book with Oxford University Press is titled Chronic health conditions and work: Proactive strategies for supporting employees and doing well by doing good
